ive been to Mar Cafe four times now! im a big fan of the atmosphere and food :) the prices are quite reasonable and the presentation of the food definitely makes it seem like youre getting treated! the view from any seat is nice but especially from outside. counter tables also do not disappoint! highly recommend Mar Cafe for big groups, couples, or individuals looking for a nice lunch or dinner spot!

Found this cozy spot in Kyoto by chance and decided to stop by. The view from the window is amazing, a peaceful look over the city and the hills. 🌿✨ The food was just as good! A plate full of deliciousness: hamburger steak, crispy fried veggies, fresh salad, quiche, and perfectly cooked rice. 🍴 Such a nice surprise!

Very nice and informal place with stunning views onto the Kyoto's river and the Higashimaya ward from the 8th / top floor! The food was amazing and the service first class! Will be coming back!

Didn't expect it from a restaurant on the 8th floor rooftop, but the Mars Burger is FIRE! Cafe has a great ambiance, definitely a nice place for a meal and a chat

Cozy, comfortable and relaxing. Food tastes, smells and looks great. You are allowed to stay as long as the place is open. Workers know a good amount of English although some might need Google translate. Outlets here and there for charging. Books for reading. Great place to lounge and relax for a long period of time.

After getting in to our hotel in the evening, we were looking for a place to have dinner with our large party. We found this place that happened to be open a little bit later. Definitely amazing food and atmosphere! If you’re in the Kyoto area and are looking for a place that’s open a little later for dinner please try Mar Café! They have a variety of dishes on the menu to satisfy everyone’s craving. Excellent staff and beautiful atmosphere.

We stumbled upon this restaurant walking around from our airbnb and let me tell you it was worth the risk! The atmosphere is really cute, the staff was very friendly and the over place was clean. Everything we got to eat and drink was SUPERB! I ordered the loco moco bowl (with homemade hamburger steak) and my friends ordered the Marburger (pictured) and Caesar salad with baked chicken and herb bread crumbs (not pictured). I cannot express how phenomenal this food was! If you are ever in Kyoto and want something off the beaten path please come to Mar Cafe. They do accept credit cards. And ordering is done through a QR code.

Wow! One of the best views of Kyoto, with a cafe-restaurant that feels unreal. The cozy atmosphere and stylish design are just perfect! The food is really good and big protion. Would defently come again! You won't believe this place exists on the 8th floor of its building. Just go 😁

Happened upon this place looking for an easy dinner for 7 people. This has to be one of the quirky places of eaten but my gosh it was delicious. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Was seated quickly even with it being busy. Had the speciality burger which was amazing and daughter had fish and chips and friends a collection of other items. It's a bit tricky to find on the 8th storey of a random building but the views are amazing and the vibe it just chilled and relaxed.
